We know the day of installation can feel like a big event. You are letting a crew into your home to run lines and mount equipment, and we want everything to go smoothly for you. The good news is that you do not need to do much. A few simple preparations from your side help our team work efficiently and keep your home protected.

Below is a straight list of what we ask you to have ready. If anything here is unclear, just call us at (512) 297-7493. We answer our own phones and we are happy to talk through your specific setup.

Parking and Vehicle Access

Our crew usually arrives in a van or truck with ladders, tools, and the indoor and outdoor units. We need a parking spot as close to your home as possible. If you have a driveway, please clear it so we can park there. If street parking is tight, let us know ahead of time. We can work with most situations, but an early heads up saves time.

For homes in older Austin neighborhoods or downtown areas where parking is limited, please save us a space if you can. For properties in Round Rock, Georgetown, or the Hill Country where driveways are long, we appreciate knowing where we can pull in. Also, if your home has a gate or a locked entry, make sure it is unlocked or give us the code.

Clear the Workspace

We need clear access to the room or rooms where the indoor unit will go. Please move furniture, breakables, and any valuable items away from the wall where the unit will mount. We recommend at least a few feet of clear floor space so we can set up a drop cloth and our tools. If the unit is going in a closet or tight area, empty the closet entirely.

Outside, the outdoor condenser unit needs a solid level surface. We can mount it on a concrete pad, on brackets on an exterior wall, or on the ground. Please clear away any debris, planters, garden hoses, or stored items from the spot. Also, if your yard has an irrigation system, mark the sprinkler heads so we do not accidentally hit one when digging for line sets.

Power and Water Access

The indoor and outdoor units need electrical power. Usually we connect to a new dedicated circuit or tie into your existing panel. The crew needs access to your electrical panel. Please make sure we can reach it without moving stored items. If your panel is in a locked garage or closet, leave it accessible.

We also need a standard electrical outlet nearby to run our vacuum pump and tools. A typical outdoor outlet or garage outlet works fine. If you have an outdoor spigot or water source, that helps us test the condensate drain. Do not worry if you do not have one, we can work around it.

Common questions

What the Crew Needs From You, answered

Do I need to be home all day during installation?

You do not need to stay for the entire day, but someone responsible should be there at the start to let the crew in and at the end to inspect the completed work, ask questions, and pay the remaining balance. We usually finish in one day for a single zone, but two zone systems can take longer. We will give you a time window when we book the date.

Will the crew move my furniture or heavy appliances?

We ask that you clear the area before we arrive. Our crew can move light furniture like small tables or chairs, but we are not insured to move heavy items like large dressers, pianos, or refrigerators. Please empty the workspace yourself. If you need help planning, give us a call and we can walk through the layout.

What if my home has brick or stone exterior walls?

That is common in Central Texas. Our crew drills through brick and stone routinely. We use proper masonry bits and seal the hole from the outside. The area will look clean when we are done. We cannot re-point brick or patch stone, but we will ensure the line set passes through a neatly finished sleeve.

How long does a standard installation take?

A single zone installation typically takes four to six hours. A two zone system can take six to eight hours. This depends on factors like the difficulty of running line sets through the attic or crawlspace and the number of indoor units. We will give you a better estimate after a site survey, but plan on the crew being at your home for the better part of a workday.

Do I need to provide a ladder or any tools?

No. Our crew comes fully equipped with ladders, drills, vacuum pump, gauges, and everything needed. You only need to provide access to the spaces mentioned above. If your ceiling is unusually high or the installation spot is in a tricky location, let us know so we can bring the right equipment.
