The Slot in the Build Sequence
Rough electrical comes first. Insulation follows. Hang and tape drywall before the indoor head goes up. Paint the mount wall before the head if you want a clean fascia.
Do not hang the head in an open stud bay. Do not wait until the punch list. The indoor unit belongs on a closed, painted wall with the outdoor pad reachable and the circuit already there.

What Breaks When You Slot It Early
The indoor head in a room that still has drywall dust loads the coil with debris. Texture and paint land on the fascia. The outdoor unit becomes a workbench.
You then show a dirty unit at walkthrough. That is a problem with the owner that you do not need. Keep the head off the wall until paint is done.
What Breaks When You Slot It Late
Drywall is finished, paint is finished, floors are down, trim is on. Then the line set and drain have to go through completed work. Patching and recutting paint is what the owner sees.
That is non standard work. It is quoted before any work begins. A casita that looks done is a harder path than a casita that is closed and painted but not trimmed.
What Each Trade Should Leave Behind
The electrician leaves a dedicated circuit, a disconnect at the outdoor location, and a labeled breaker. The insulator does not close a planned chase. Drywall leaves a flat, closed wall at the head.
The painter finishes that wall. Flooring holds the path if the crew still needs it. Trim waits on the line cover. Routing, circuit, drain, and equipment size are confirmed at the site walk.

Site Walk, Permits, and the Date
Service area is Austin and the I-35 corridor. Line set routing, circuit, drain path, penetration location and equipment size are confirmed at the site walk. Anything variable is confirmed there. Do not lock equipment size off the drawings alone.
Requirements vary by jurisdiction; confirming permits is on the owner or the general contractor. You pick the date. It gets confirmed. If anything changes you get told.
