Our flat rate of $2,400 covers materials and labor together. A $400 deposit books your install day, and you pay the remaining balance by card after we walk you through the running system. No surprises. No hidden fees. Just a solid day of work done right for your Central Texas home.
The crew pulls up in the van right around 8. We greet you, do a quick walk through of the planned locations for the indoor head and the outdoor condenser. We lay down drop cloths and set up our tools. This first hour is about making sure everything is ready, the mounting area is clear, and we answer any last questions you have. We also run the lineset path one more time to confirm the shortest, cleanest route through your attic, crawlspace, or along an exterior wall.
This is the core work window. We mount the indoor unit on the wall, level and secure. Then we drill the hole through the wall for the line set, drain, and power cable. For homes with interior walls that are easy to access, this goes quickly. For brick or stone exteriors or tricky attic spaces, it might take a little longer. We also mount the outdoor condenser pad or bracket during this block. By noon, the rough in is done. The lines, drain, and wiring are pulled and connected to the indoor unit.
We step away for a proper lunch. We don't eat in your living room. We find a shady spot in the yard or grab something nearby. This is a good time for you to check in, ask questions, or just let us work. We are back at it promptly at 1.
We wire the outdoor unit to the disconnect and connect the line set with flare fittings. We pressure test the system with nitrogen to check for leaks. If your home is in a newer part of town like Round Rock or Georgetown with easy access to the outdoor location, this step is smooth. In older Austin neighborhoods with tight side yards or alley access, we take extra care. After the test passes, we evacuate the lines with a vacuum pump to remove moisture and air. That vacuum typically runs for at least 30 minutes.
We power up the system, set the refrigerant charge, and run the unit in cooling mode. We check the air temperature at the vent to confirm it is blowing cold. We also test the heating mode if your system includes that. While the system runs, we clean up the work area, remove drop cloths, and patch any small wall holes with white caulk. We show you how to use the remote and the phone app if your model has Wi Fi. Then we walk you through the system, let you see and feel the cool air, and collect the remaining balance via secure card checkout. The job is done, and we are gone by 5 or a little after.
A standard single head install is almost always finished in one day. But if your home has unusual conditions, like a very long line set run through a complicated attic, we may need a second day. We will tell you upfront if we think that is possible during the quote. There is no extra charge beyond the flat $2,400 for a second day of labor, because the flat rate covers the whole job. The deposit still books the first day, and the balance is due on completion.
No. We only need to work on the circuit that will serve the mini split. We will ask you to identify the breaker panel location, and we turn off that specific breaker while we do electrical work. Your other lights, outlets, and air conditioner (if you have a separate system) stay on. In the summer, we try to do the electrical connections early so the rest of your home stays comfortable.
We drill a small hole, usually about 3 inches wide, for the line set and drain. We seal around the hole with a trim kit or caulk so it looks clean. For exterior walls, we use a grommet or sleeve to protect the lines. We take care to match the caulk color to your siding or brick. If we need to run lines across a wall surface (like in a finished room where hiding them in the wall is not possible), we use a plastic line hide channel that matches the wall color. We do not leave bare lines exposed unless you prefer that look.
We carry general liability insurance and we are careful. Before we start, we point out any existing damage or fragile items near the work area. We cover furniture and floors with drop cloths. If an accident happens, we fix it or file a claim. We have never had a major damage issue, but we treat your home like our own. That is part of why we include cleanup and patching in the flat rate.
You do not need to stay the entire time, but you need to be there at the start to let us in and show us the breaker panel and the locations. You also need to be home at the end for the final walk through and payment. Many homeowners run errands during the middle of the day. If you leave, just make sure someone else is reachable in case we have a question. We will text you updates.
