Multigenerational households

If your household spans three generations under one roof, you already know that one central thermostat can't make everyone comfortable. Grandparents may prefer warmer rooms, kids might run cool, and an added or converted space for extended family often feels completely different from the rest of the house.

The flat rate

One number, materials and labor together

Standard day
$2,400
Materials and labor, installed. Six days a week sit at this rate.
Joker day
Lower, every week
One day a week costs less. It moves weekly, revealed on the homepage.

$400 materials deposit books your day. The balance is due when the work is finished and you're happy with it. Anything outside a standard install is quoted before work begins, never discovered after.

Multigenerational households

Multigenerational homes mean multiple comfort zones. A single HVAC system forces nightly thermostat negotiations that leave someone too warm or too cold. Ductless mini splits let each room or area set its own temperature, so the in-law suite stays cozy while the kids' playroom stays cool.

A flat rate of $2,400 covers materials and labor for a standard installation. One day each week is Joker Day at a lower price, and the day and price change weekly. A $400 materials deposit holds your chosen day, and the rest is due after the crew finishes the work.

We size each installation by rule of thumb during your call, but an on site visit confirms the right BTU needs for your rooms. No promises on a specific number until we see the space. The crew is licensed and works along the I 35 corridor around Austin.

Common questions

What people ask us about this

Can one mini split unit cool two different rooms at different temperatures?

Usually each indoor unit serves one zone or room. You can have multiple indoor units connected to one outdoor unit, and each indoor unit sets its own temperature. That way the grandparents' room can be warmer and the kids' room cooler without conflict.

How do you figure out which size mini split I need for each room?

We use a rule of thumb based on room size, ceiling height, windows, and sun exposure when you first call. Then we confirm everything with an on site visit before installation. We never promise a specific BTU number until we see the space in person.

What does the flat rate of $2,400 actually cover, and how does the Joker Day work?

The $2,400 includes all materials and labor for a standard installation. One day each week is Joker Day with a lower price, but the exact day and amount change every week. You pay a $400 deposit to hold the day, and the rest when the work finishes.

Can I install a mini split in a converted garage or bonus room that was added later?

Yes, that is a common reason families call us. Added rooms often have different insulation and ductwork challenges, so a ductless mini split can be a clean solution. We do an on site check to make sure the room can be served properly.

Does the $400 deposit count toward the final price if I pick Joker Day?

Yes, the deposit goes toward your total balance. If you book on a Joker Day, the deposit still holds that slot and the remaining balance is due after the work is done. The exact Joker price is shown on the homepage each week.
