We want you to know exactly what that flat rate includes and where you might see an extra charge. This page breaks down the castle walls around our pricing so you can plan your project with confidence. And yes, our Joker Day each week offers a lower price but we reveal it on the homepage so you can grab a deal when the timing is right.
Your $2,400 flat rate covers everything needed for a typical residential mini split installation. That includes the indoor air handling unit, the outdoor condenser, the line set (refrigerant tubing), communication wire, and a condensate drain line. We also include the mounting bracket for the outdoor unit and the wall bracket for the indoor unit. Labor for mounting, running the line set, connecting the refrigerant, and electrical wiring from an existing nearby power source is all part of the price. We test the system in front of you to make sure it's cooling (or heating) properly. The deposit of $400 books your install day and the remaining $2,000 is due after you see the system running and are satisfied.
Some homes or install locations require work beyond a standard setup. If your installation needs a new dedicated electrical circuit from your main panel, that is an extra charge because it involves an electrician running new wire and adding a breaker. If your line set must run longer than the standard 25 feet (for example across a large house or up a tall wall), we may need to add refrigerant and additional tubing. Unusually thick walls, stone or brick masonry, or a second story exterior wall can require extra labor and materials. We also charge extra for a condensate pump if gravity drainage is not possible. If you want a custom drain line run through an attic or a finished interior wall, that adds time and materials. We always give you a clear written estimate for any extras before we start work.
The flat rate is $2,400 for a standard install. A $400 deposit via secure card checkout reserves your install day. The balance of $2,000 is due on completion once you have seen the system running and verified it works. We accept card payments through a safe online checkout. No financing plans, no loans, just straightforward payment. One day each week is our Joker Day and the price is lower than $2,400. The exact Joker Day price changes weekly and is only shown on our homepage at atxminisplitjester.com. If you book on a Joker Day you get that lower rate. Otherwise the standard flat rate applies. Either way you get the same quality installation with no surprises.
Yes, the flat rate includes both the indoor and outdoor units, the line set, wiring, and all standard mounting hardware. We use reliable, factory sealed systems. If you want a specific brand or a higher capacity unit that is not part of our standard package, we will quote you a different price. But for most homes in the Austin area a 12,000 or 18,000 BTU single zone system fits the flat rate.
A new dedicated circuit from your breaker panel is not included in the flat rate because every house is different. Some homes have a nearby outlet or a spare breaker slot. Others need a longer run through the attic or a subpanel. We provide a separate quote for electrical work before any installation begins. We can often coordinate with an electrician or handle it ourselves if we are licensed for that work. You will know the cost upfront.
Yes, if the indoor unit needs to go on a second story exterior wall or an especially high ceiling, we may need a lift or extra labor. Similarly, if the outdoor unit must be placed on a roof or a steep slope, that adds time and safety equipment. We assess your home during the free consultation and let you know if the location falls outside the standard install. The extra cost is always quoted before we schedule the job.
One day each week we set a lower price than $2,400 for a standard install. The Joker Day price changes weekly and is only listed on our homepage. You cannot combine it with any other discount because the price is already reduced. To get the Joker Day rate you simply book that day. If the install is more complex and requires extras, those extras are still charged at the same rates as any other day. The Joker Day applies only to the flat rate portion of labor and standard materials.
Permit requirements vary by city. In Austin, Round Rock, Georgetown, and other Central Texas towns you may need a mechanical or electrical permit for a mini split install. We handle all required permits as part of the installation process. Any permit fees are included in the flat rate unless your local jurisdiction has an unusually high fee. We will let you know ahead of time if there is a surcharge. You never have to pull a permit yourself.
