Where it sits in the sequence
Drywall hangs. Then the mini split goes in. Paint, flooring, and trim follow. That order keeps penetrations, patches, and covers under your finish trades.
Rough electrical is already in. Insulation is in, with the line set path left open. The indoor wall is a drywall plane, not paint. Outdoor grade is accessible from the curb.
What goes wrong too early
Framing has no drywall plane. The indoor unit needs that plane. Setting early leaves the head proud of the finished wall or short of it.
Insulation crews will close a chase that is not marked. Do not book us at framing. Leave the circuit and the outdoor location clear. Wait for drywall.
What goes wrong too late
Paint, flooring, and casing are done work. A line set penetration, a drain exit, and an outdoor whip all cut that work. Your client sees it at walkthrough.
If finishes are already in, that is non standard. Get a quote before that work starts. The $2,400 weekday number does not cover opening painted walls or lifting floor.
What each trade leaves you
Electrician lands a dedicated circuit at the outdoor location. Disconnect placement is confirmed at the site walk. We do not pull permits. Confirming the permit is on you or the owner; requirements vary by jurisdiction and we are not a permitting authority.
Insulator leaves the marked path open. Drywall hangs the indoor wall and stops. Paint holds. Flooring holds until the drain and line set path is known from the site walk.
- Electrician: dedicated circuit landed at outdoor location
- Insulator: marked chase left open
- Drywall: indoor wall hung, not painted
- Grade: outdoor location clear and reachable from curb
- Framing: no equipment set; wall plane comes later
- Paint and trim: wait until we are off the wall
The bid number and what trips extras
Standard single zone is $2,400 on weekdays, materials and labor. Weekends are $2,600. One Joker Day each week is priced lower than the weekday rate. The day changes and is posted on the home page.
A $400 materials deposit books the date; balance is due on completion. Non standard work is quoted before any work begins. Service area is Austin and the I-35 corridor. Call (512) 297-7493.
Site walk, date, walkthrough
You pick the date. It gets confirmed. If anything changes you get told. Size is a rule of thumb until the site walk.
A casita reads smaller than it loads. West glass and a hot attic push the size up. Line set path, drain routing, penetration location, circuit, and equipment size are confirmed at the site walk.
Included in the number
- Indoor unit mounted to the hung drywall wall
- Outdoor unit set at the location from the site walk
- Line set run on the path confirmed at the site walk
- Condensate drain run on the path confirmed at the site walk
- Connection to the dedicated circuit left by the electrician
- System startup
- Wall penetration at the confirmed location

- Condensate pump
- Arrival after paint, flooring, or trim is in
- No circuit present at the outdoor location
- Unusual outdoor mounting or relocation of a set unit

Have these done before the install date and the day runs clean. Anything not on this list gets looked at during the site walk.
- Site walk done; path and indoor wall marked
- $400 materials deposit paid; date confirmed
- Dedicated circuit landed at the outdoor location
- Drywall hung on the indoor wall; no paint
- Insulation path left open per the site walk
- Outdoor location clear, grade reachable from the curb
- Street access open for materials
- Confirm on siteCrew checks indoor wall, outdoor location, circuit, and path against the site walk.
- Set outdoor unitOutdoor unit is placed. Electrical is landed on the circuit you roughed.

- Line set and drainLine set and condensate follow the confirmed path. A different path is quoted before it is cut.
- Start and hand backSystem is started. The wall is left for paint and trim. Balance is due on completion.
Phases run in this order on a standard job. Site conditions change the pace, so nothing here is a timeline commitment. If something on site is different from the walk, you get told before it turns into cost.
$400 materials deposit books the date and buys the equipment for your job. Balance due on completion, on the visit the system runs.
$2,400 weekday. $2,600 Saturday or Sunday. One Joker day each week is priced under the weekday rate. The day moves week to week and it is shown on the home page, so if your schedule has slack you can aim at it.
Non standard work is quoted before any work begins. Nothing gets added to the number without you approving it first.
Running the same install across more than one project? Call (512) 297-7493 to set up repeat scheduling.
- Do I book you at rough in?
- No. Book after drywall is hung. Rough in is the electrician and the insulator. Circuit and an open path are what they leave. We need the drywall plane.
- What is in the $2,400 weekday line?
- The weekday number is materials and labor on a standard single zone. Indoor, outdoor, line set, drain, circuit connection, startup. Off list work does not start until you have a quote.
- Who pulls the permit on an ADU?
- Not us. Requirements vary by jurisdiction. We are not a permitting authority. Confirming the permit is on the owner or the general contractor.
- I am stacking ADUs. How do I keep this as one call?
- Call (512) 297-7493 to set up repeat scheduling. Plug $2,400 weekdays into each bid. Non standard work on any unit is quoted before work begins.
- What does the owner see at walkthrough if this is sequenced wrong?
- A hole in paint. A cut in flooring. A head sitting on an unpainted patch. Slot us after drywall and before paint so your finish trades own the last look.
