After Drywall Hang, Before Paint
The indoor head mounts on a closed wall. Sequence the mini split after the hang. Tape can be done. Paint waits.
Rough electrical is already landed. Insulation is already in. The penetration is cut on install day. Location is confirmed at the site walk.
Slotted Too Early
Open studs look easy. They are not the slot. The head needs a finished plane. Insulation and drywall still have to land around the lines.
You open finished work later to fix routing. That is not the $2,400 number. Non standard work is quoted before any work begins.
Slotted Too Late
Paint is on the wall. Flooring is down. Trim is nailed. The penetration and the drain then cut finished work.
The owner sees patches at walkthrough. That lands on you. Keep the mini split in the window after hang and before paint.
What Preceding Trades Leave
