What the electrician leaves ready

The house electrician owns the circuit. Jester Climate terminates at the disconnect. Whip and conduit need to be in place before the installer arrives.

Put the disconnect at the outdoor unit location, not on a wall the unit will not sit on. Outdoor location and penetration are confirmed at the site walk. Move either one after that and it is non standard work, quoted before any work begins.

  • Dedicated circuit left live and labeled
  • Disconnect at the outdoor unit location
  • Whip and conduit landed for termination
  • Penetration path left open and accessible

GC, electrician, installer on one call

Get the GC, the house electrician, and Jester Climate on one call. Align outdoor unit location, disconnect, and penetration. Who owns the circuit gets stated on that call.

You set the call. Pick the install date after the locations are aligned. The date gets confirmed. Circuit size still gets confirmed at the site walk.

  • Outdoor unit location
  • Disconnect location
  • Penetration location
  • Circuit ownership
  • Preferred install date

The number you paste into the bid

$2,400 on weekdays, materials and labor, standard single zone mini split installation. $2,600 on weekends. $400 materials deposit to book, balance due on completion.

One Joker Day each week is priced lower than the weekday rate. Which day it lands on changes week to week and is revealed on the home page. Non standard work is quoted before any work begins.

What the site walk confirms

Line set length, drain routing, penetration location, circuit, and equipment size are confirmed at the site walk. Nothing in that list is assumed from the plans.

Sizing is a rule of thumb confirmed on site. A casita reads smaller than it loads. West glass and a hot attic push the size up.

How the date works

You pick the date. It gets confirmed. If anything changes, you get told.

Call (512) 297-7493. For repeat work, call the number to set up repeat scheduling. Service area is Austin and the I-35 corridor.

What the owner sees at walkthrough

Indoor head is on the wall confirmed at the site walk. Outdoor unit is on the pad location the electrician prepped. Disconnect, whip, and conduit are already there so the installer is not fishing a circuit in front of the buyer.

Change of location, missing electrical, or extra zones get quoted before any work begins. You keep one phone number. Jester Climate is (512) 297-7493.

  • Disconnect installed near the outdoor unit location
  • Whip and conduit ready for the installer to terminate
  • Indoor mount wall clear and finished
  • Outdoor unit location clear
  • Penetration path accessible
  • Date picked and confirmed
Install dayPhase order, no clock times promised
  • Verify prepConfirm dedicated circuit, disconnect, whip, and conduit are present. Confirm the penetration location matches the site walk.
  • PenetrationOpening is made at the location confirmed at the site walk. Patch and paint are not in the standard install.
  • Set unitsIndoor head mounts on the confirmed wall. Outdoor unit sets at the confirmed location.
  • Line set and powerLine set and drain run as confirmed at the site walk. Power lands on the disconnect the electrician left.
  • StartupSystem is started. Operation is checked with whoever you have on site.

Phases run in this order on a standard job. Site conditions change the pace, so nothing here is a timeline commitment. If something on site is different from the walk, you get told before it turns into cost.

How the money worksTwo payments, no surprises

$400 materials deposit books the date and buys the equipment for your job. Balance due on completion, on the visit the system runs.

$2,400 weekday. $2,600 Saturday or Sunday. One Joker day each week is priced under the weekday rate. The day moves week to week and it is shown on the home page, so if your schedule has slack you can aim at it.

Non standard work is quoted before any work begins. Nothing gets added to the number without you approving it first.

Questions builders ask
What does my electrician need to leave ready?
A dedicated circuit. A disconnect near the outdoor unit location. Whip and conduit. Where the penetration wants to be is set at the site walk, then left open.
Do I bid $2,400 on every lot?
Bid $2,400 for a standard single zone mini split installation on a weekday, materials and labor. Bid $2,600 if the work falls on a weekend. Anything outside standard is quoted before any work begins. Check the home page for Joker Day.
Do you pull the permit?
No. Requirements vary by jurisdiction. Jester Climate is not a permitting authority. Confirming the permit is on the owner or the general contractor.
What is the coordination call for?
It is how the GC keeps the electrician from landing the disconnect on the wrong elevation. The installer states where the penetration wants to be. Have the call before the electrician closes the wall.
The date is set and the circuit is not ready.
Hold the house. Phone (512) 297-7493. Missing electrical is non standard and is quoted before any work begins. You pick a new date after the electrician finishes; that date gets confirmed.
