Where Mini Split Fits in Your Sequence
The mini split install happens after rough electrical and before insulation. Rough electrical leaves a dedicated circuit run to the outdoor unit location and a power feed to the indoor head location.
Insulation goes in after the line set, drain, and wiring are run. Drywall goes on after insulation. Paint, flooring, and trim come after drywall. Walkthrough is last.
If the mini split goes in too early, the line set gets buried behind drywall with no access. If it goes in too late, the drywall crew has to cut patches after the fact.
Slotted correctly, the install crew works behind the rough electrician and in front of the insulator. No rework, no callbacks.

What Each Trade Leaves Behind

Insulator leaves the chase open. Batts are pulled back so the line set and drain can be run after rough electrical is done.
